Whale Chorus delivers comprehensive professional learning for educators in teaching Shakespeare, devised theatre and curriculum consultation led by our company directors and teaching artists.

Teaching Shakespeare

Teacher Professional Learning

We equip teachers, educators and school leaders with world-class approaches for teaching Shakespeare. Through an inclusive and playful environment you will learn strategies for bringing Shakespeare’s plays alive for students. We will address:

  • Games and exercises for engaging with Shakespeare through play
  • Techniques for accessing and understanding Shakespearean language
  • Approaches to directing and rehearsing Shakespeare
  • Methods for teaching stage combat and clown
  • Strategies to develop actor-audience relationships
  • Tools to support student’s social-emotional learning through theatre

“I enjoyed the experience and have been able to share a few ideas at a Faculty meeting already. Some English teachers have introduced games and ideas into their lessons already which is most exciting. I am pumped for this to continue.”
