Finnish actress, director and acting teacher Anu Almagro led a masterclass in leading European ensemble theatre for 16 performing artists. This workshop introduced local artists to world class actor training in the lineage of Song of the Goat, Grotowski and Theatre Gardzienice (Poland). Across two days Anu led participants through exercises in movement, rhythm, body awareness, partnership, imagination, spatial relations, voice, text and singing which are designed to awaken the inner life of the actor and the energetic connection between the ensemble. This was a rare experience for local actors to experience an internationally renowned European theatre tradition, to expand their breadth as performers, build new local connections and work with an international artist.
